Onboarding Notes: Top NFT Resources You Need to Follow

Here's my 5 favourite NFT resources that have shaped the way I think and engage with the ecosystem.

Welcome to Notes from the Lab. Subscribe and follow me on Twitter for more breakdowns and commentaries about all things exciting in NFT and Web3. Thanks and glad to have you onboard!

The NFT space is evolving rapidly these days.

New metas come and go seemingly within seconds.

Free mints. Allowlist metas. Memes. Open Editions. AI art. Generative art.

These are just a few metas off the top of my head that have been the top of everyone's minds in the past weeks.

You might find it impossible to keep up with all these developments, and frankly you're right!

To even have a chance at keeping up and learning about NFTs, I rely on a wide range of resources that guide my thought processes.

I'm not holding them close to my chest any longer. Here's sharing a full list of my valued, recommended NFT resources:

Punk 6529 Twitter

I wanted to start off with Punk 6529, as his long threads and insights have been invaluable to my understanding of NFTs and the crypto space in general.

If you're new to Punk 6529, he is a long-time OG and builder in the space, propogating his beliefs in NFTs, decentralisation and an Open Metaverse.

You can start from his thread on JPGs here:

To his bullish-ness of NFTs here:

And his occasional poignant life wisdom:

His Twitter account is truly one of my favourites, and a gem that everyone should experience and dive deeply into.

University of Nicosia: NFTs and the Metaverse course

This is one of the best NFT courses that you can actually consume online, free!

Here's how they describe themselves:

An open introductory course to NFTs and the Metaverse, delivered on-chain and in the metaverse.

While they term themselves as introductory, there are many insightful gems that even seasoned NFT enthusiasts would find fascinating.

Every week, the course goes deep into detail in different areas of NFTs.

These include Generative Art, Gaming NFTs, the Metaverse and many more.

Watch all the replays of the sessions here:

They also boast an all-star team of instructors, including Punk 6529 himself, Snowfro (Founder of Art Blocks), Gargamel (Co-founder of Yuga Labs), Beeple and many more.

Proof Daily NFT Countdown

This is a daily weekday video by Punk 9059, also known as NFT Statistics on Twitter.

He shares latest charts, stories and narratives of all things notable and trending in the NFT space.

I have always enjoyed his take on new trends in the space, backed with objective datasets and charts that cut out the noise and highlights key stories I should know.

They also have a sub-series where they shine the spotlight on top NFT artists, finding out more about their backgrounds and project developments.

Here's one with everyone's favourite, Jack Butcher:

The Metadata

This is one newsletter that stands out among many others.

The Metadata focuses primarily on NFTs, gaming and metaverse and shares the most interesting and recent stories 3 times a week.

While the newsletter dives deep into a few notable topics, it also shares various tweets and stories to keep you up to date with the latest NFT events.

A good combination of keeping up with the industry, plus a better understanding of key developments and shifts in the ecosystem

Bonus share: Do also give the founder Teng Yan a follow and subscribe here, as he often shares compelling and thought-provoking content too!

Mint or Skip

This is a rather new newsletter that I've found recently, but have shown great promise with their content.

This is a weekly newsletter that shares a curated list of upcoming NFTs that they are most excited about.

This is split into the Mint list, Watch list and Skip list based on their judgement of the project's potential.

You don't have to take their judgements as the final word for these NFT drops, but it serves as a good resource to know about some of the upcoming hyped mints.

Similar to other newsletters highlighted here, they also dive deep into a topic of interest during the week.

These are always appreciated - as we get to look deeper into topics that might have fallen off our radar.
